When I received Helen's Package in the post I was over the moon but one thing in particularly caught my eye. The MUA Heaven and Earth Palette, whose shades looked suspiciously similar to something I already owned, the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. I decided to put them to the test to see which ones I preferred and to compare how much of a dupe it was. Findings recorded, here's the results.
Although completely different packaging, I like it on both these palettes, the Naked 2 definitely feels a lot higher end but they both feel really sturdy and like they are going to keep the eyeshadows inside safe. I also really like the clear lid on the MUA Palette since it allows you to see what is inside, making me more likely to reach for it when I see it in my draw. As far as colours go there is almost a dupe for every single one in the Naked 2. I would say that they are slightly warmer toned in the Heaven and Earth Palette, which is a shame as I prefer the slightly colder tones but it is not dramatically noticeable and can only really be seen in the more golden tones (such as the two left swatches pictured below). The UD colours do feel slightly creamier to apply and the pigmentation is of slightly higher quality, but the differences in the two are so minimally and, for the price difference are, frankly, to be expected. As far as staying power goes I swatched both on my hand at the beginning of the day and they faded at exactly the same rate (only truly gone after a shower which is pretty amazing!) but the glitters do tend to shed a little on both over time.
Overall, they are both amazing palettes but Urban Decay just pips it to the post in my books. However, at £32 cheaper than it's more expensive counterpart I highly recommend that you try the Heaven and Earth Palette even if it is just to test out the shades before going for the Naked 2.
